School Guidance and Counseling
School Guidance and Counseling is a comprehensive program that is an interactive component of Coordinated School Health. Services are implemented by Professional School Counselors & Academic Coordinators to aide in reducing dropout rates, improving academic performance, and increasing participation in post-secondary education through the use of Comprehensive Development, School Guidance and Counseling - Guide for Program Development and Guidance Counseling Programs.
Our mission at BHS is to meet the individual needs of all students. A focus on academic, personal/social, and career development, enables students to achieve at their greatest potential intellectually, socially and emotionally in all their future goals.
What We Do:
We do individual planning in the areas of educational, career, and personal-social development. We do guidance curriculum in a variety of areas with all students as well as provide responsive services, both prevention and intervention, to address immediate needs and concerns of students. Some of the roles we play include counseling, consultation, program implementation and management, coordination, and assessment.
The Counselor’s office has a “sign up and request” wall location in the back hall of the front office. There you will find sign up’s for the following:
- PSAT/NMSQT Testing
- ACT/SAT Waiver
- ASVAB Testing
- TSI Testing
- Transcript Request
- Transcript Release
- Counseling Services Information Requests and Referrals
