Greg Kennedy

I am proud to be a member of the Buffalo ISD Team.  I come from a family of educators and believe a person is called to be in education.  Even as a principal today, I will always be a teacher at heart.

My personal educational started with graduation from Buffalo HS and then a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Masters of Education Degree in School Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University. I have been in education for 24 years. I have taught fourth grade and fifth grade at the elementary level.  My administrative duties began in Normangee as Assistant Principal PK-12. From there I became Assistant Principal in Rockdale on a campus of over 800 students for three years. I then moved to Leon Elementary as Principal for the 9 years. I was in Latexo for 3 years as principal before coming back home to Buffalo.

I feel a successful principal must promote teaching that reaches the student and who they are first, then challenges students to reach beyond merely knowing the course material.

"If You Can't Reach'em, You Can't Teach'em"

I believe students must be able to think critically, analyze information, effectively communicate orally and in writing, apply their learning in real life situations, use technology responsibly, and be able to respond and be successful in our ever changing times.  Besides reading, writing and arithmetic a successful student must also learn respect and responsibility. This must be taught as a team of school and parents.

I have been married to Angela Kennedy for the past 23 years. Angela works as a realtor here in Buffalo for Crossroads of Texas. We have two beautiful daughters, Caitlyn and Madison.

I look forward each year to working with the teachers, students, and parents of Buffalo Junior High and being a part of continuing in the success that has been achieved.
